About Us

Longview Timber LLC ("Longview Timber") owns and manages approximately 650,000 acres of prime, freehold timberlands in Washington and Oregon. This represents one of the most valuable freehold timberland portfolios in the region.

Longview Timber manages its timberlands on a sustained-yield basis and is SFI Certified. The states’ stringent Forest Practice Acts’ are met and surpassed as part of our overall forest environmental protection activities. Longview Timber maintains an ongoing intensive reforestation program, with substantially more trees planted per acre annually than required by state law.

Fish and wildlife habitat enhancement projects in our forestlands have earned significant recognition. Longview Timber's leadership in protection and development of fish and wildlife habitat ranges from key work in helping formulate more stringent state stream-protection rules in Oregon, to providing technical expertise, in-stream structures and funding in cooperative streams/fisheries improvement-restoration projects with state agencies, sportsmen and environmental groups.

Longview Timber's long-term forest resource management program emphasizes continued greater utilization of forest residuals, like the Chunk-Recovery System; development of better ways to merchandise logs; and continued participation in development of new harvest concepts designed to better utilize low-grade materials at less cost.

Longview Timber continues to be recognized as an industry leader in advanced forest management practices.

Longview Timber's tree farms contribute substantially to local area economies through employment of logging, hauling, road construction and forestry contractors; purchases of materials and supplies locally; through payment of taxes, and in supplying logs to local area sawmills. Our timberlands are managed for multiple-use, with public recreational enjoyment including hunting and fishing.
